The link between the machines

Conveying solutions for cheese, molds, racks and production equipment

Robust, hygienic conveyor systems for both delicate products and heavy items.

Conveyor carrying cheese between two process steps.

In brief – for those making the investment decision

Potential operational effect

Less need for manual handling and a more stable cycle rate.

Basis for calculation

  • Molds or racks per hour
  • Conveying distances
  • Staffing
  • Cycle times
  • Buffers

Risk and other value

Better ergonomics, fewer heavy lifts and the potential for more consistent internal logistics.

The expected effect is calculated from your baseline and depends on product, process, capacity and operation.

Conveying for different tasks

Five tasks – the same plant

Conveying is the link between the process steps. That is why it is sized for both the product and the machines it has to connect.

01
Conveyor belt for cheese.

Gentle conveying of cheese

Conveying of the finished product without stressing the surface – adapted to cheese type, format and temperature at the step in question.

02
XYZ gantry system with mold turner and conveyors moving molds between process steps.

Conveying of molds, lids and block molds

Conveyors through the mold circuit – from filling and pressing to emptying, washing and return.

03
Loaded racks ready for conveying.

Robust systems for heavy racks

Conveying of loaded brining and ripening racks, sized for the weights and loads the racks impose.

Buffers, merging and distribution

Buffers, merging, distribution and positioning keep the cycle rate when the steps run at different speeds.

05
Conveying integrated with turning line and controls.

Integration with machines and automation

Interfaces to machines, washers, cranes and XY/XYZ gantry systems, so conveying is part of the overall control picture.

Two extremes

Delicate product and heavy items

The two tasks place opposite demands on the design. In a cheese plant both must be solved – often in the same system.

Conveyor belt for cheese.

Gentle

Conveying the product

Cheese must be handled gently all the way. Transfers, speeds and surfaces are chosen so the product is not damaged.

Loaded racks ready for conveying.

Robust

Conveying the racks

Loaded brining and ripening racks are heavy. Frames, drives and bearings are sized for the actual load.

CIP-compatible conveyors

The conveyor can clean itself

Conveyors can be developed for CIP (cleaning-in-place) with integrated nozzles, pre-rinse, chemical wash, final rinse, drainage and program control. The design is developed for both production and the subsequent cleaning.

  • Integrated nozzles in the conveyor
  • Pre-rinse, chemical wash and final rinse
  • Drainage, so the water can get away again
  • Program control of the cleaning sequence

Cleaning is designed together with the conveying – not as an add-on afterwards.

Design parameters

What we adapt – not a standard datasheet

Conveyor systems are built for the item and for the building they will stand in. These are the parameters we size for together with you.

Item type
Cheese, molds, lids, block molds, racks or production equipment.
Weight and load
From delicate products to loaded brining and ripening racks.
Capacity and cycle rate
Speed and flow are matched to the machines upstream and downstream.
Buffers and distribution
Merging, distribution, buffers and positioning.
Hygienic design
A design that can be cleaned – optionally as a CIP-compatible conveyor.
Degree of automation
From simple conveying to controlled flow with positioning and program sequences.
Integration
Interfaces to machines, washers, cranes and XY/XYZ gantry systems.

Tell us about the flow

What needs moving – and how heavy is it?

Tell us about the item, weight, capacity and the machines the conveying has to connect. Then we look at flow, buffers and cleaning as a whole.
