The starting point
A repetitive task in the middle of a running production
Arla Troldhede wanted to automate a repetitive mold handling step in an existing production – without rebuilding the line from scratch.
The project was therefore as much an integration question as a machine question: the solution had to fit the molds, the flow and the space that were already there, and it had to be fitted into operation.
What we built
Special system with tooling, conveying and automation
HSV Combi developed a system in which the gripper and tooling solution, conveying, machine safety and automation were designed around the specific task. Mechanics and controls were developed together, so that movements, cycle rate and safety work as one.
- Custom tooling for the molds
- Conveying and internal handling
- Machine safety and guarding
- Automation and controls
- Integration into the existing flow
- On-site installation and commissioning
How it was installed
Working in a production that had to keep running
Site survey, installation and commissioning were planned around production. Tasks like this depend on access, stops and coordination with the customer's own people, and that is a significant part of the work.
What the customer got
Special automation that fits the site
The case shows HSV Combi's ability to build special automation into an existing production: a solution developed for the job rather than a standard machine the production would have to adapt to.
