The starting point
The wash has to be the same every time – and gentle on the cheese
Arla Høgelund needed consistent and gentle cheese washing that could be integrated into the existing flow.
Washing is both a hygiene question and a product question. The result has to be the same every time, and at the same time the handling must not damage the cheese. That places demands on the mechanics, the nozzles, the water flow and the controls alike.
What we built
Customized washer with conveying and nozzles
HSV Combi developed a washer for the job rather than adapting the production to a standard machine. Infeed and outfeed conveying, nozzle layout and automation were designed around the product and the flow the machine had to fit into.
- Stainless steel wash chamber
- Nozzle layout adapted to the product
- Infeed and outfeed conveying
- Automation and operator interface
- Hygienic design and ease of cleaning
- Integration into the existing flow

How it was installed
From site survey to commissioning
The solution was designed and manufactured in Sdr. Bjert and then installed and commissioned at the customer's site, so that washing result and conveying worked together in the daily flow.
What the customer got
Washing, hygiene and product knowledge in one solution
The case shows that HSV Combi knows the washing process, the hygiene requirements and the product. It is that combination that allows a washing solution to be consistent without compromising the cheese.
